SACKVILLE, NB  — Mount Allison University will host the 2024 CCAA Men’s Basketball National Championships next March. The official announcement was made by the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) on February 2, 2023. This tremendous news is a testament to the CCAA’s confidence in the University’s athletics and recreation program to organize and present a first-class tournament. 

“We are extremely excited for the opportunity to host the CCAA Men's Nationals in 2024,” says Director of Athletics and Recreation Jacques Bellefleur. “Many members of our Host Committee for the 2018 CCAA Women's Basketball Nationals will be back with us to organize the Men's Championships. We look forward to organizing and presenting another first-class experience for student-athletes with the assistance and support of local partners and many dedicated volunteers."    

Mount Allison has experience in presenting marquee athletic events, having hosted the 2018 CCAA Women’s Basketball National Championships, the 2008 and 2011 CCAA National Badminton Championships, along with many ACAA regional championships.  

“We are beyond thrilled to be selected as host for the 2024 CCAA Men’s Basketball Nationals where we will feature our outstanding student-athletes, our top-shelf basketball team, and our brand-new McCormack Gymnasium,” says Dr. Jean-Paul Boudreau, President and Vice-Chancellor of Mount Allison University. “Hats off to our Athletics Director Jacques Bellefleur, the athletics team, and to Coach Steve Chapman and his team for their leadership in bringing the 2024 Nationals to Mount Allison and to our community.”

The 2024 CCAA Men’s Basketball National Championships will run from March 13-16, 2024. It will feature eight teams from across Canada — conference champions from the Pacific Western Athletics Association (PACWEST), Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC), Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA), Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec (RSEQ), the Atlantic Collegiate Athletics Association, two wildcard teams, and the host Mounties. All tournament games will take place in the newly renovated McCormack Gymnasium — Home of Mountie Pride.
