Mount Allison marks 50-year milestone of participation in Shinerama

22 Aug 2024
The University has raised more than $700,000 for Cystic Fibrosis Canada

Mount Allison’s 2024 Shinerama Campaign marks 50 years of participation in Canada’s largest post-secondary fundraiser. In the past 15 years, Mount Allison has received the “Best Overall Campaign” award five times. This year’s campaign goal is set at $20,000 to support the overall Shinerama goal of $160,000. The money raised will help fund an online mental health hub to support those living with Cystic Fibrosis, as well as supporting their family and friends.

With events planned throughout the summer and the fall, the fundraising campaign’s main annual fundraiser is during Orientation Week — Shine Day!

“This year’s campaign is unique because it's Mount Allison's 50th year participating in Shinerama,” says Shinerama Chair and MASU Director of Entertainment and Activities Kris Girouard. “Mount A has raised over $700,000 for Cystic Fibrosis Canada to date and this money has been monumental in funding research that has doubled the life expectancy of Canadians living with Cystic Fibrosis.”
