If you're a student from one of Mount Allison's partner institutions, you're eligible to come to Mount Allison as an exchange student for a semester or a full academic year.

You'll receive credit towards your home degree and continue to pay tuition and fees at your home university. Find out more about how to attend Mount Allison as an exchange student.

If your university or college is not one of our partner universities, you can come to Mount Allison as a visiting international student.

Steps to apply:

STEP 1: Contact the international centre at your home university

Contact the international centre at your home university for more information about requirements to come to Mount Allison as an exchange student.

You must first be nominated by the study abroad or exchange advisor at your home university as a tuition-waver exchange student before you can submit your visiting exchange student application.

The nomination form certifies that a student from one of our partner universities is applying to do an exchange, and has been nominated to attend Mount Allison by their home university. The nomination form must be completed by the Study Abroad Advisor or Exchange Administrator from the university co-ordinating the exchange student application process to Mount Allison University.

STEP 3: Submit our Visiting Exchange Student Application

Complete the Visiting Exchange Student Application.

You'll need to list the courses you intend to take at Mount Allison. To view a list of courses that are offered during the semester that you intend to study at Mount Allison as an exchange student, visit our course timetables.

STEP 4: Send supporting documents

Send the following supporting documents to studyabroad@mta.ca.

  • Official academic transcripts from your home university (in English)
  • Description of grading system at your home university (in English)
  • If English is not your first language, proof of English proficiency (TOEFL 90, IELTS 6.5) — this is not required if you've been studying at one of our partner universities whose primary language of instruction is English
